This album was born in lockdown. Initially I was recording abstract music with the intention of starting a collaborative airsculpture track, but before anyone else had a chance to get involved it sounded complete, and Corvid was born. The other tracks arrived quickly; the two coffee flavoured ones in an intense morning while waiting for my wife to come back from a distanced chat with our neigbours; the yogamats while she was doing yoga-over-the-internet. "Midnight Masque" is an unused pre-virus track that had the right feel.

The music here is mostly modular and quite experimental. The bulk follows a simple process - create an interesting patch, then record it with careful live tweaking. Then pull it all apart, and start again with a new patch, multi-tracking until it feels done. Each track takes time to explore the timbres exposed by the patching. There's some interesting stuff here - "coffee morning" invokes otherworldly cello or didgeridoo sounds (not quite being either) while its sibling "morning coffee" reminds me of the feel of an early 70s Berlin School concert redolent with gliss guitar and organ arpeggios - a million miles from how it was created of course.
